Tin Man Fund

Welcome to the Tin Man Fund Website

The Tin Man Fund is dedicated to supporting cultural endeavors that promote positive social change.

Tin Man Fund gives primary consideration to requests from New York City and San Francisco.
The three main areas of interest include:

  • Child and Youth Education
  • Human Services
  • Visual, Performing and Media Arts in Education

Contributions are only made to organizations that demonstrate exemption from federal income tax under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and are not classified as private foundations.

Specific programmatic funding is favored.
Tin Man Fund does not make contributions to individuals, fraternal societies, religious organizations, nor political organizations or candidates.

Currently, the Tin Man Fund is not accepting any unsolicited proposals nor does it respond to telephone solicitations.

Initial contact should consist of a simple letter of intent outlining the scope of the project, the anticipated budget, and the size of the request. Upon reviewing this letter, we will ask for a full proposal if necessary.

Grants range from $5,000 to $10,000.
Board meetings are scheduled in April and October of each year.

If a grantee is interested in re-applying, Tin Man Fund adheres to an 18 month funding cycle. For example, if an organization received a grant in October, a year end report should be submitted the following October before resubmitting for funding in April.

All inquires and questions should be directed to Nancy Sweeney at nancy@tinmanfund.org or:
